Kingston Resorts always has so much to do on a summer’s day. We have a selection of restaurants and bars for every taste, tennis and pickleball courts for friendly competition, and Spa33 for relaxing days. And nothing says summer in Myrtle Beach like a day in the water. Currents Waterparks, available exclusively for registered guests of Kingston Resorts, features two waterparks and everything you need for a pool day. Of course, the ocean is just steps away too! But we get it, sometimes you want to explore the nearby attractions. Here are our picks for awesome summer activities near our Myrtle Beach resort.
Rumor has it that Blackbeard, the most feared pirate of them all, frequents the waters and watering holes of the Grand Stand near Kingston Resorts. While we can’t confirm or deny if he’s ever challenged his quartermaster Calico Jack to a pickleball match on one of our courts, we do know your best bet to find pirates is to check out the Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show. Enjoy a four-course feast and watch as the Crimson and Sapphire crews do the things pirates do on full-size ships in this indoor lagoon. So round up your best mateys or family members for a swashbucklin’ good time this summer.

You don’t even need to drive yourself there — our complimentary shuttle service takes Kingston Resorts guests anywhere within a two-mile radius, which includes the outlets.

America’s favorite pastime and summer go hand-in-hand. As the Myrtle Beach Pelicans like to say, baseball is better at the beach. The minor league baseball team is the Single-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. It plays near Kingston Resorts at the TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. The Pelicans are members of the Carolina League, a league they’ve won four times, including back-to-back in 2015 and 2016. This season, the Pelicans have $2 Tacos on Tuesdays, half-price hot dogs on Wednesdays, drink specials on Thirsty Thursdays, Fireworks on Fridays and Sundays, and more drink specials on Saturdays. So no matter what day of the week you visit the ballpark, you’re in for a treat.

For a thrill that comes with a big splash, check out Wild Water & Wheels, an amusement park full of water rides and a race track. The climb up the stairs is worth it for the rush that comes from the body-only slides named Free Fall Cliff Dive, Monster Drop, and Serpentine. These vertical drops are built for those with a need for speed and a splash at the end. Wild Water Park also features tube slides, mat slides, and bumper boats. On dry land, there’s an 18-hole mini golf course that’s fun for the whole family. There’s also the race zone with speed racers and two-seater family racers, so all guests over 42 inches tall can experience the joy of racing.

Every Monday ends with a bang, with fireworks at 10pm. Barefoot Landing also has a carousel with 41 animals, Alligator Adventure — which brings you up close and personal, from a safe distance, of course, with fascinating reptiles!
