A Myrtle Beach vacation at Kingston Resorts is a classic family activity full of delicious food, tasty beverages, and fun in the sun. It’s a must-go destination for families looking to spend quality time together in an unforgettable setting by the ocean. Speaking of quality time, here’s an itinerary for planning the ultimate family weekend at Kingston Resorts.
The answer to the question “Are we there yet?” is yes! Now that you’ve arrived at Kingston Resorts, it’s time to check in at Embassy Suites Myrtle Beach. It’s just steps away from the ocean and fully renovated. Each suite here has two rooms with a living space and a pull-out couch, perfect for giving everyone a little more space on a family weekend. It’s also right next to where you’re headed next: Currents Seaside Entertainment.
The all-new Currents Seaside Entertainment is the home of two waterparks, Black Drum Brewing (more on that later), an outdoor pool with daybeds, cabanas, and chaise lounge chairs. There’s a waterpark for younger kids and then one that will thrill older kids, making it a family favorite of all ages. The attentive wait staff are available to bring food and drinks poolside, so you can unwind with a good book and a much-earned drink while the kids have a big splash. The waterparks are available exclusively for guests of Kingston Resorts.
A day at the pool is sure to work up an appetite, and if that doesn’t, the smell of Carolina barbeque from Black Drum Brewing is sure to make you hungry. The Carolina-born and brewed restaurant gives everyone a taste of the region with fresh seafood, house-smoked meats, and a local twist on classic dishes. For the parents, there are 40 taps to choose from, all from the states of North and South Carolina. For even more local flair, pair the flavors of the region with the sounds of live entertainment with Music on the Terrace every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm. In fact, you can listen to live music four nights a week at Kingston Resorts, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Check out the full entertainment schedule here.
One of the best parts about a stay at Embassy Suites is the included complimentary breakfast. It’s convenient and ensures everyone fuels up for the beach day ahead. After breakfast, head up to your room, grab your beach bag, put on your swimsuit, and get ready to go to the beach, just steps away.
P.S. We have a handy “Beach or Pool Bag Checklist” for you to read before you pack for your Myrtle Beach getaway.
With nearly a mile of beach at our property, no trip to our oceanfront resort would be complete without a day of relaxing and playing in the ocean and on the sand. We recommend renting bicycles as a fun way to explore the beach on two wheels. Plus, who doesn’t love a good family bike ride?
There’s no need to worry about hunger cutting a beach day short. Wet Whistle is a convenient restaurant and bar about as close to the ocean as you can get without actually being in the water! Enjoy the ocean breezes, the sounds of the crashing waves, and a variety of appetizers, handhelds, and bar classics, including the Big Whistle Nachos. Parents will also be pleased to know we have frozen beverages, beer in cans and on tap, and signature cocktails.
After a lunch break, there’s only one place to go. Back to the beach!
While the day at the beach is over, the ocean vibes continue at dinner over at Coastal Grill & Bar. This restaurant offers stunning ocean views and a kids’ menu that’s sure to delight our youngest guests. The open kitchen specializes in homestyle favorites, light bites, and fresh seafood.
The last day of vacation here is full of good vibes only. Once again, the day starts with the included breakfast at Embassy Suites. After everyone has coffee and orange juice, it’s time to rally the family and head over to the pickleball courts. This sport is loved by all ages as it’s easy to pick up but challenging to master. Kingston Resorts has four designated pickleball courts, with balls and paddles available so you can hop right into a match.
The best way to cool off after claiming the family pickleball championship crown? Jump in the water. After pickleball, it’s back to Currents Seaside Entertainment because one afternoon at the waterpark is simply not enough. In addition to the pool, there are daily activities such as giant pong, cornhole, giant Jenga, arts and crafts, and more. There’s even more game equipment to use upon request. Have a classic family game that just has to be part of your vacation? Just ask us, and we’ll let you know if we have it on hand, or explore our activities list here.
We’re going to cap an unforgettable family vacation with a meal that’s always a crowd-pleaser. It’s pizza night, but not just any boring old pizza. No, this build-your-own pizza is fully customizable and then baked in a brick oven. It’s full of the ingredients your family loves with that distinct taste that comes from a fresh pie baked in a brick oven at Coastal Grill & Bar. Pick your sauce: house red, BBQ, garlic oil, or spicy buffalo ranch. Then, pick your veggies, your meat of choice, followed by a choice between fresh mozzarella, parmesan, and cheddar. While there will be no shortage of vacation stories to share over a slice, if you’re looking for a conversation starter, why not talk about what you want to do on your next visit to Kingston Resorts?
This itinerary is just one example of how you and your family can have a one-of-a-kind weekend at our world-class resort. The only thing that’s missing from it is you! Plan your next vacation and start counting down the days to a Myrtle Beach getaway.
